Nowadays, industrial design plays an important role in the process of product research and development. The decision at the beginning of industrial design is to take the whole cycle of product design positioning, cost control, manufacturing, quality testing, publicity and display, marketing and recycling into consideration, which has far-reaching influence. In the process of industrial design, hand plate model making is an important link, from pure manual model making to semi-mechanized model making to modern, hand plate model making progress is a microcosm of the progress of modern manufacturing technology, practice has proved that the production of hand plate model not only plays a very important role in product design decisions, but also product information security and marketing tool, can not be underestimated. The following industrial design process from the different stages to look at the importance of hand model making in industrial design.
First, design optimization
Modern industrial design covers a wide range of content, as small as paper clips, ballpoint pens, as large as aircraft, ships, all contain the shadow of modern industrial design, but so many products, their design methods are not the same. This method has more obvious advantages in the design of art works that focus on the change of surface modeling, because the appearance modeling of art works focuses on people's direct aesthetic feelings, which is often irregular, and it is difficult to find regular geometric elements in it. If you directly carry out three-dimensional computer drawing, it will be twice the effort. Even if the model is established, its subsequent modification is poor. If in the opposite direction, the first by the modeling designer directly with mud and other materials to shape the body, and then through the three-dimensional scanning equipment to parameterize the model, the computer data of the original model and then further through the hand plate rapid model equipment to make processing, can greatly improve the efficiency of design.
Ii. Design discussion
In the process of product design, discussion is very important, visualization is an important part of product design expression, is the cornerstone of design discussion. By quickly and effectively modeling products, higher design efficiency can be achieved in the same time. In the design creative stage, the most used is often based on drawings 2D performance, however, in the middle and late period, the performance of the design will be more specific, should use a more specific and intuitive hand model as the object of discussion. Compared with the 2D performance of the plane, the hand model has irreplaceable advantages. The hand model can make the details of the product more clear, the visual experience of the product more intuitive, everyone in the design team can see these designs, in the coordination of the work of the whole team has obvious advantages.
Three, functional testing
Certain functional tests can be done to make the handboard model, which can simulate the final shape of the product, including the functional form, surface form, etc. Using materials with certain strength (such as ABS, PC, etc.), functional handboard model containing internal structure can be made to test whether the structure of the product is reasonable, whether the wall thickness meets the requirements, and whether the moving parts are smooth. Aerodynamics tests can also be performed with a hand-plate model. Such as in the car, high-speed train or spacecraft need high-speed motion object design, can make 1:1 model, put it into the wind tunnel, intuitive aerodynamic research.
